Game one of the Stanley Cup Finals lived up to all the hype. Hard hitting, great goaltending, and last-minute heroics are everything that playoff hockey is about. Timmy Thomas played tremendous and gave the B’s every opportunity to win game one as he turned away 33 out of the 34 shots he faced. I don’t think there is any shame in losing a game like that. A questionable on side’s call and a great pass to the far post was the only difference in a tough balanced game. Alex Burrows taking a page out of Iron Mike’s playbook and chomping on Bergie’s finger now gives a villain and reason 7,001 why we hate Canada. All that country is good for is its’ legal drinking age of 18, St. Catherine street, and its’ strip clubs. Our boy scouts could go up and mop up that country’s army, and probably get a merit badge for kindling a fire out of a couple old hockey sticks. Bottom line is this is going to be a tough series for both teams. Anyone who thought we would walk all over the Canucks hasn’t been paying attention all year or has been probably blacked out with my buddy Dino for the past 9 months on 4lokos and menthol cigarettes. If game one is any indication, we are in for an epic 7 game series with the B’s taking home Lord Stanley on foreign soil. So rest up boys Saturday night is going to be a hell of a tilt!
